Your key

You can find your new key in its key slip. It will open both locks on your front door. Back / side doors all operate on thumbturn locks and so require no keys.

Keys are uniquely numbered so please keep the key slip as a reminder of your number. Keys cannot be copied (for security) and are expensive to replace – please look after them!

Cleaning

Your house will have been professionally cleaned before you move in. Please let us know straight away if there’s anything you’re not happy with – we’ll be more than happy to rectify it.

Summer renovations

All redecoration, repairs and renewals are scheduled to be completed by September. More minor works may be completed around you with minimal disruption.

Utilities

We will contact you after moving in to confirm your opening meter readings at the property. Once you receive these, please contact your utility supplier to open gas, electricity and water accounts. If you have signed up to our Bills-Inclusive package we will handle this for you.

High-speed internet

If you have signed up for our internet or Bills-Inclusive package, your WiFi will be working from the day you move in. Your password can be found on the back of your key slip.

Council tax

We’ll organise your Council Tax exemptions as full-time students. Please keep us informed if your circumstances change.

Furniture

Your house comes furnished – a list is provided later in the Handbook. If you find any other furniture has been left that is not on the list provided, please let us know and we will remove it.

Your mattress

We have provided you with an immaculate memory foam mattress. Please purchase and install a good-quality mattress protector before you or anyone else has the opportunity to use your room.

Wall fixings

We want your house to feel like home, so you’re welcome to put things up, as long as they don’t damage the walls.

In our experience, Blu-Tack, tape and adhesive strips often pull the paint off when they come down, so please take care. Any damage to the walls will need putting right at the end of your contract.
